(Inspired by the film “Amélie” and the translated version of “The Pillow Book of Sei Shonagon.”)

Seeing my breath when it’s cold outside. The feel of a baby’s hands in mine. Making a list of things to do and crossing them off one by one. The light tap, tap, tap sound of my ballet flats as I walk down the stairs. Standing on top of the furnace vents for the warm air on cold mornings. The smell of sunscreen lotion. Watching raindrops slide down the window. The first page of a journal. Collecting quotes from my acquaintances. The feel of cool bed sheets on my skin when I first climb in. People-watching. The beauty in a tree. Crunching the ice on the sidewalk with my every step during the winter.
