I was leaving the school today and passed the new development. I realized that just last year, a just months ago, I had been outside running across that very field being built on, flying a kite. I had made the kite in Mrs. R’s math class. Tetrahedron kites!

My group’s kite was the only one that successfully flew. I knew how to time it just right with the little wind we had. And it was a beautiful, sunny day.

It was kind of sad to know no one else was ever going to be able to run across the grass anymore. Where are Mrs. R’s future classes going to fly their kites?

I told my dad about it and he said to me:
“I remember an old saying, ‘Attachment is the cause of all misery.'”
Yeah, Dad, I know.
